Lorraine Higgins lives and works in her Studio-Gallery Space in Cromwell, Central Otago and her work is currently exhibited in Galleries throughout New Zealand.
Lorraine is an artist who uses paint as a vehicle to express the tangible and non-tangible. Gestural spontaneous marks are directly applied from the tube, often scratched and scrapped into the surfaces of paper, canvas, and board.
She holds a BVA, Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and a Dip Min and has been awarded numerous Art Awards throughout New Zealand.
Lately she has begun to write her own poetry which informs her work.
